I am first and foremost a Christian. I am a husband and a father. I am a Software Engineer by profession. I identify who I am by my relationships with God, my wife, my children and then everyone and everything else.
I am currently in the employ of Follett Campus Resources (Technical Sales and Services). My primary responsibilities include maintenance/enhancements of our primary software product TOM-Tracks.
TOM-Tracks (Textbook Operations Management Tracking System) is a college store text book management system.
We are a mixed language and platform shop at Follett . That is, we have RPG III programmers, COBOL programmers and C programmers. We produce code for the IBM S/36, RS/6000 AIX, Open Universal, and Client Server platforms. I produce code in all three languages and on all the platforms we support. When working on Tom Tracks I code mostly in the non-interactive areas (i.e.: batch, KSHs, PROCs, MS DOS batch files, EDI, multi-platform program interface(s), and reports). I do detail design work also.
I have joined the "ORACLE" programming team, creating our newest product Course Works. We are developing Course Works using Oracle Developer/2000 Forms and Reports oh, and of course Procedure Builder. I almost forgot we have sprinkled a little MS VB5 (I've got my fingers in that pie too) in some of the areas where Forms and or Reports just don't measure up. This is proving to be fun also. I can honestly say it feels good to be doing SQL again!
