Configuring the IP addresses and other information necessary for
creating interfaces to a Logical IP Subnet (LIS) is performed
automatically, improving the ease of configuration for ATM switches
and IP routers which support RFC 1577 (Classical IP over ATM). The
approach taken is easily extensible to other protocols.
