Following a Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory in the area of ATM multicast, I came to Adaptive (R.I.P.), now part of Network Equipment Technologies in December 1993 to actually use it. I implemented the ATM Forum protocol LAN Emulation Version 1.0, investigated ObjecTime the C++ code-generation tool and then did some Transcend (now Slate) archictectural modelling for the next generation ATM switch project known as Chameleon.

I moved to the East Coast in 1995 (following my wife's studies) to Fujitsu Nexion (Ascom Nexion until June 1997) where I was working on IP Autoconfiguration and getting the Internetworking Software team together for Release 1. Family ties brought us back to the West Coast and I started work with Vitria Technology . We found a home in Willow Glen , a very convenient, friendly community with a certain buzz. As they say, "Life is good in Willow Glen".

This really isn't very personal, is it? But then, being an Englishman, I feel no need, and have little desire, to publish my intimate details all over the planet.

Following graduation in 1990 from the University of California at Santa Cruz. in the area of medieval Irish studies, I worked in Lesotho as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching Mathematics. I then worked for the Episcopal Community Sanctuary, a non-profit shelter for homeless people in San Francsico for two years, before moving to Cambridge, MA to study at Harvard University Divinity School with an eventual goal of hospital chaplaincy. With this in mind, I completed a CPE internship at Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland, CA. Since then I have been the Director of Religious Education at St Francis Episcopal Church , in Willow Glen. I have also been accepted as a postulant for ordination in the Episcopal Church.

This is a little more personal, but not much. Then, I'm a Californian married to an Englishman, so I feel no need, and have little desire, to publish my intimate details all over the planet.

I was born October 14th 1996 and am much loved by my parents. I like not sitting still and asking "why?". Below is an excerpt from my first email.
