The first picture is a .jpg 100x396x16million, 232.3KB. The second picture is a .gif with 256 colors which reduces the file size to 77.3KB. The third picture uses "lowsrc" to layer the two pictures. And the final picture is the .jpg saved as a .gif with the number of colors reduced to 256. I think it loses too much in this format.

This page is dedicated Neil and Beth Pateman who introduced me to the elusive "green flash" in Hawaii. Since then, I've been fascinated by the green flash that supposedly appears as the sun sets into the ocean. I hope to return some day to see it.
