Browsers

The two main browser in use today, Netscape and MS Explorer, are similar in operation, but when it comes to creating a web page that looks and acts similar in both the similarities end quickly...

Both have their own personalities. Explorer is a more forgiving browser. It will display pages with coding errors, such as an open table tag. Netscape is more critical of page coding and will not show any portion of an open table.

Even though Netscape demands better coding, you benefit with quicker page loading, and in turn, faster browsing on the web.

Netscape also seems to have a better downloading engine. It always knows the size of the file to be downloaded, and gives more accurate estimated download time.

In creating pages, I have found it best to have both browsers available to view & test pages for browser inequalities. It guarantees that your page will look similar no matter which browser a visitor is using.
