I'm still trying to remember where I first saw this term ... I think it was in an article about one of the first artificial heart surgeries, performed in Phoenix. Half-hearted research on the words stent and ticonium suggest a medical support device for the inside of a tube (such as a vein), and a particular brand-name metal compound.
Anyway, it makes a cool-sounding nom-de-plume, and I like this spelling better.
