CoF Charged!

Well my fellow AW citizens, it has finally happened: CoF has charged for the use of AW! Yeah, although they said that AW would always be free, I guess they've changed their minds. But fear not! You can still enter, but only as a tourise; or you can pay a small fee and be a citizen (I'm still a citizen, I payed). So, don't fret. AW's still kinda the same. The only thing that I've noticed that's different is that now there's a whole lot of tourists roaming around, and they're all aliens. It's kinda scary. I went to Ground Zero only to be greeted by about 30 tourists. No registered citizens showed up for a while. But I guess I'll have to get used to that :( . Oh well...

VANDALISM

A recent outburst of vandalism has devestated the citizens of AlphaWorld, and AlphaWorld itself. Many attempts to stop the vandalism have failed, with others being made right now. The recent destruction of the "OHTV Headquarters" ("OHTV" stands for "operation hack the vandals", one of the stupidist names I've ever heard; first of all, they don't do any hacking, they haven't stopped any vandalizers, and I think they chose that name to have the "TV" at the end; they're just a bunch of kids thinking they own AlphaWorld) has sparked a so called "war" between the vandals, and the anti-vandals. So far it looks like the vandals are winning, because "The Anarchy" and "The Triad" have seemed to have join forces. Other vandal groups like "The Hawaiian Mafia", "The AW MIB", "The JRC", and many other vandalizers are apparently joining together for a common cause. But with all these vandalizers popping up, some of the "other kind" are turning up too. "The OHTV", "The OHTH" (made by the same peole who made the OHTV), "The AWA", "The AWPD", "The AW FBi", and many others are doing the best they can. Although they haven't banned together as well as the vandals have, they are still trying to stop vanadlism everywhere.

Now, although it seems good to have lots of anti-vandals, beware! It could be an act. DJ Bubble (The leader of the OHTV and the OHTH) has been caught doing some damage before. Should you see him, it may be wise to not tell him the co-ordinates of your place, just to be safe. Now, I'm not saying that DJ Bubble is a vandalizer (although he has accused innocent people of being vandalizers), but I'm not saying that he's not. The only thing that's worse than being a vandal, is being a vandal pretending to be an anti-vandal. Should you find out who's in any of the gangs, you can email me, and I will post a list of them. There have been recent rumors a-buzz of an oncoming "vandal-spree". The vandals are apparently going to try to vandalize the major places of AlphaWorld. They are apparently going to start small to test there powers, And are gonna work there way up to the "mother-load" of all vandals: "Ground Zero". Nobody knows if they can do this, but they ("they" are "The Anarchy" and "The Triad") are dead sure that they will be able to. We can only wait and see, or try to stop them. So people of AlphaWorld, join together for the common good! Stop the vandalism! For if we don't, it just won't be the same in AlphaWorld anymore.

A TRAGIC DAY IN THE VIRTUAL WORLD...
June 28, 1997, one of the "sadder" days of Active Worlds. Today, there was a funeral service for our dear friend Kaci. Kaci passed away from a heart attack..a very tragic story, one that'll make you cry. If you wanna go to her memorial site, it's at http://www.flnet.com/~daveo/kaci.htm . Many memorial statues and flower decorations were erected behind Kaci's house ...and the procession was held there...more than 30 people showed up, and a few speeches were given by N0VA, SKYANGEL, Cinny (Kaci 's mom), and other friends of Kaci. The site is at 3983n 4051w, just walk to the back and start crying. Many messages and poems were left there, and they will probably be there forever, so the future generations and see the pain we've went through. WE WILL MISS YOU DEARLY KACI.
