CADD Design Supervisor - Composites
Currently manager of CADD design services and senior lead designer for multi-discipline producer of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) products. The varied duties include the following:
- 3D Design of the United States's first all-composite truck trailer and truck bodies. Performed complete design from conceptual stage through final construction documents. Trailer design was completed using SolidWorks 3D modeling software.
- Complete design of item master schema (coding rules) for parts, subassemblies and assemblies. Item master schema was used in conjunction with MRP/ERP software to enable multiple users to construct complex end products with huge numbers of parts and subassemblies.
- Produced marketing literature including 3d renderings, illustrations and Powerpoint presentations for FRP bridge decks, railcar components and truck trailers.
- Designed and coordinated fabrication of complex mechanisms of machined components for semi truck trailers and other various transportation-related products.
- Designed many unique and innovative mechanical devices and currently pursuing patent rights for many of these designs.
- Produced design engineering plans and shop drawings for FRP bridge deck panels. Assisted in the field construction as well as marketing efforts for the world's leading FRP bridge deck supplier.

Senior Engineering Technician/Bridge Designer
Performed preliminary and final design for multiple bridge structures.
- Led team in the preparation of calculations, plans, quantities and construction elevations for bridges. Superstructure types included were bridges with curved and tangent steel girders, precast concrete girder bridges and retaining wall structures.
- Worked extensively in Highway/Roadway Design using Microstation and Geopak. Developed horizontal and vertical geometric controls.
- Assisted in roadway design of highways including multi-level interchanges and grade separations. Performed bridge type studies, calculated vertical clearances, set grade profiles. Calculated ramp and loop "nose" profiles and grades.
- Produced structure recommendations for multiple bridges of various types.
- Continued to develop customized engineering programs and CAD routines written in AutoLisp, Visual Basic and Microstation Basic.
- Reviewed shop drawings of steel bridges for NCDOT.
