Few of my achievements:

• Vice-President, Buddhist Studies Society of University of Melbourne, pioneer in rejuvenating and restarting the society, reaffliation to University fabric.
• Students of mine getting the best award for the best project in Mechanical Engineering, University of Melbourne
• Presenting in conferences where Presidents of IEEE, British Computer Society attended
• Implementing the ITU expert designed plan for Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka with the motto if you have the will, you have the way. No barriers can prevent me from implementing a plan beneficial to the office and country.
• Helping to make the previous office National Building Research Organisation, the focal point for Landslide Research in national and international arena. Supporting the equipping of Sri Lankan sub-postoffices with latest technology and helping to implement the eMoney order.
• Coordinator for World Summit for Information Society(WSIS) marking Sri Lanka on the UN millennium goals map

SOME THOUGHTS ...

• skilled migrant should not be left high and dry after arriving Australia, every valuable seconds, minutes and hours of valuable skills and rich experience can be used to build a better future for Australia. I follow the principle 'True patriotism is of no party '
  
• Religion should be for emancipation and well being of mankind not for division of mankind.

The value of critical thinking
Critical thinking is, roughly, "the art of being right". Good critical thinkers get closer to the truth more often than people who lack this skill. And being right matters..

Sensor Networks

Value of Learning !

A mythical metaphor for learning... by Tom Clark
According to Snorri Sturluson’s Edda, a thirteenth century Icelandic textbook on poetic style, the gods possessed the
best boat of all time, named Skidbladnir. It was the biggest of ships and it had two magical properties that set it aside
from any other large ships. First was that, whenever it was becalmed, it could summon a wind from any direction to
fill its sails. Second was that it could be folded up so small and light you could carry it in your pocket.

Skidbladnir is the best metaphor for the value of learning I have yet come across. Part of the attraction is its
evocative suggestion of a good that is valuable in absolute terms, is of minuscule encumbrance, and is capable of
transforming the very conditions in which it operates. Those three qualities define learning very well. Especially the
learning that characterises original research.
