There is a high incidence of "Sudden Death" and hidden heart disease amongst  athletes, despite their following a healthy lifestyle. To provide a service to the sports and fitness community Cobra Cardiology offer the following services :

• Health questionnaire to be completed in advance

• Lung function (At-Rest & Post-Exercise) [AR&PE]

• Listening to the heart & breathing sounds

• Height

• Weight

• Body Mass Index (% of body fat)

• Blood Pressure & Pulse [AR&PE]

• ECG [AR&PE]

• Recovery Time

• Fitness Assessment

• Blood Glucose, Cholesterol & Triglyceride testing

• Urinalysis (8 Tests)

The testing for blood constituents would involve three single drops of blood, taken by informed consent in the presence of a consultant, which the athlete will sign for in his/her presence. The charge for this comprehensive screening is £25.
