Kinixys homeana Home's Hingeback Tortoise
Home's hingeback is a forest dwelling african hingeback tortoise that closely resembles Kinixys erosa. Supposedly, Home's Hingeback lives in moist habitats, but does not frequent wet areas as often as the forest hingeback tortoise.
These tortoises are often seen on reptile importers species lists. K. homeana unforetunately do not make good pets as imported animals. Some animals showing up on the market are claimed to be "ranched" specimens, meaning they were raise from wild collected eggs.
The care for K. homeana is similar to K. erosa, both loving humid warm environments with little light. They are omnivorous and shy, and do not make good pets. K. homeana is smaller than k. erosa, with a drab yellow to brown carapace.
