THE COMMON MARKET, aka EEC, aka EC, aka EU, BEGAN WITH A LIE AND HAS CONTINUED SINCE THEN WITH MENDACITY AND DECEPTION. When something nasty for Britain has been proposed, those in the know have hoped we Britons would not hear about it. If we did notice, we were told each time that it was a myth or only a mad idea of some professor or Think Tank. It didn't matter. If it did matter, it wouldn't happen, because we, the Great & the Good in the Westminster and EU Parliaments, who understand these things, would veto it. When it happened nonetheless, of course, it was too late to do anything and the Great & the Good found they had given away the veto on this very point, anyway.
NOTHING EXEMPLIFIES this consistent pattern of "union by stealth" more dramatically than the passage of Corpus Juris. On 13th April 1999, one of the most shameful acts of betrayal of our Anglo-Saxon rights was perpetrated by our British Members of the European Parliament (MEPs). The Civil Liberties and Internal Affairs Committee of the phoney EU Parliament voted to "welcome" the introduction of Corpus Juris. Not very many people in Britain have ever heard of this. In view of the Europhiles' talent for stealth, this is not surprising.
CORPUS JURIS harmonises our law with continental law. In the process, it abolishes three fundamental features of British Common Law which protect the British subject from misuse of state power:
CORPUS JURIS SETS UP A EUROPEAN PUBLIC PROSECUTER who can enter Britain and haul any of us off to the Continent to languish in prison for weeks or months until the "authorities" (i.e. the European State) have established our guilt. If you are mistaken for someone of the same name who has committed the offence - tough luck! You get no compensation.
HOW LONG WILL IT BE before Eurosceptics are declared enemies of the State and receive the knock on the door at three in the morning?
TO THEIR ETERNAL SHAME, all but three of our Members of the EU Parliament have astonishingly welcomed this outrage on the rights of the British people. Yet Kate Hoey, Labour Home Office Minister has written, in a letter to Nicholas Soames MP that Corpus Juris is a threat to our "national sovereignty and human rights." For the Conservatives, James Clappison, shadow Home Affairs spokesman, has stated that Conservatives are "completely opposed" to Corpus Juris. Given these statements, we are entitled to ask why it is that the MEP's of both parties saw fit to "welcome" Corpus Juris?
NO CONSERVATIVES VOTED AGAINST. Only two Labour rebels, Alf Lomas and Alex Smith, and one Ulster Unionist voted against. What is the point of paying any attention to pronouncements on Europe from Westminster parties if their MEPs vote the opposite way? And if MEPs are going out on a limb against their party's policy, why has not a single MEP been disciplined? There has been an interesting reaction from MEPs and EU Parliamentary candidates in the Dorset/New Forest area, when questioned about their votes for Corpus Juris. They have generally looked stunned and feigned complete ignorance of what the questioner was talking about. However, when pressed, they tried to shout down the interlocutor.
ONE NEW FOREST MEP WROTE to me saying, "If everything the professors who have been considering this have recommended were to come into force, I would feel as strongly as you do." In other words, it won't happen and if it does it doesn't matter! Two other South West region Conservative MEPs argued that Corpus Juris is not actually a proposal for draft legislation. But this is exactly what it is. It is a code of laws in 35 articles. One wonders whether these MEPs have seen or read Corpus Juris.
ANOTHER SQUIRMING EXCUSE WAS that there had been "an incorrect whip" on their voting to welcome Corpus Juris and this had confused Conservative MEPs. In other words it was a "mistake" because they had been incorrectly programmed! However, good authority has it that Jack Stewart-Clark a senior Conservative MEP who sat on the Corpus Juris Committee, circulated his report on CJ before the vote. So MEPs must have known what they were doing.
TORQUIL DICK-ERICKSON, THE INTERNATIONAL LAWYER IN ROME who has been instrumental in exposing Corpus Juris, comments "..what we are witnessing is an attempt to effect an historic sea-change for the Constitution of our country, which is so profound and so radical that it can only take place by great violence or by great deception. Or both. So far they have been trying to do it by stealth."
WHEN THESE POLITICIANS IN STRASBOURG AND WESTMINSTER ARE FOUND OUT, they try to deny the evidence of their own actions in the hope that, if they deny it with enough air of authority, we will begin to doubt the evidence of our eyes and ears. This, of course, is much easier to do if they can hide amid the smoke and mirrors of Brussels and Strasbourg.
