Ancient Greece KidPix Slideshow!

Overview:

You will work with a partner to create 10 KidPix pictures based on facts that your groups finds out about Ancient Greece. Your pictures must include facts about the cities of Athens, Corinth, and the Olympic games. Your group must also write about how each fact is similar or different to our society today.

The primary electronic resources you will use for your facts are:

BBC Schools - Ancient Greece
http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/landmarks/ancientgreece/main_menu.shtml

Athens 2004 Olympics
http://www.athens2004.com/athens2004/

You may also use books from your classroom or the library for facts,
but you MUST ask permission to leave the computer lab to get a book.

How to get started:
1. Find your partner from the assignment list.
2. Each partner should find 5 facts that they wish to draw. List the facts in Microsoft Word, and make a note about if your fact is similar or different to our society today, and why.
3. Check with your partner to make sure your facts are different.
4. Begin to illustrate your facts in KidPix. SAVE each picture in your HOME DIRECTORY - 8 letters or less.
5. When you are finished all 5 KidPix pictures, e-mail them to your partner. To do this, you will use GroupWise > Attach > HOME DIRECTORY > ALL FILES.
6. To SAVE your partners e-mail attachments: RIGHT-CLICK on the ICON in your e-mail, and SAVE to your HOME DIRECTORY.
7. Students may work together to create their KidPix slideshow.
8. Present your slideshow to the class to get credit for the project.
