Explaination of the Title

PEACHES
Peaches is taken from the song by "The Presidents of the United States of America" called "Peaches".  The song is partially about the transition from country to city living, and the features inherent in the country and the city.  One example given in the song is that in the city you can only get peaches in a can.  This applies to me because in fall 1996 I made the transition from quiet country living in the mountains to the big city college life in Raleigh.  In fact, my house in the mountains is right next to an apple orchard, and there are even a few peach trees out there!  But now I am here in Raleigh, and I have much bigger orchards to explore.  I am, as Dave Matthews puts it, "the proudest monkey."  I've always desired to go to the city, and now that I am here I miss the quiet of home.  But I love the city too much to leave!

CREAM SODA
Cream Soda isn't as deep.  I like it.  However, I've always liked it.  I would get it as a treat every once in a while.  I would enjoy my cream soda as if it were something special.  When I came to State, that was no longer the case.  I instead turned to Liquor and beer as beverages of choice.  One time my sophomore year, I went to a party and was enjoying a few beers when I saw this dude carrying around a 40 ounce.  But it wasn't a 40 ounce of beer, it was a classic bottle of cream soda.  I asked him, "Cream Soda huh?". And he said, "Yeah, gotta have my cream soda."  I respected him just as much as everyone else for drinking cream soda and not booze.  And it was cool!  It reflected all my childhood dreams of holding a cream soda and "being cool" like the adults with mixed drinks.  Cream Soda represents the dream of being an adult and having the freedom to do anything.

I spent 3 months coming up with this title for my webpage.
