Windmills

Ok people this is my way of doing windmills, I will explain in as much detail as I can from my experience.  Now the way I describe the direction of windmills is called rolling. So I would say that I ROLL to the right for my windmill. Get it?.  If you go the other way just switch the LEFT and RIGHTs.  Also, I will explain how to do it from a push up position, (due to the fact that to me it's harder to start when you swing your leg).  To do windmills you need to stretch, so flexibility is not much of an option, also you should know how to sit in a turtle position pretty well, bein able to do handspins might help, or turtles.

***Note during a windmill you must remember that it's a circular motion so your legs gotta make some kind of arc motion when you do this.  Not up and down or side to side, unless you got your windmills down pretty good, then you can do whatever you want.  For me, it helps that i keep my legs and body kind of stiff, so it is forced to move by gravity and all that other crap I can't explain.  Ie. centripical force, gravity, etc.***

This is how to Start them off
Ok,  get into a push up position with your legs spread, now put your LEFT hand in the LEFT side of your abs, as you would for a handspin, it doesn't have to be put way in close to your belly button.  Now put your RIGHT hand above your LEFT like this colon here : LEFT hand fingers facing down and RIGHT hand fingers facing up.  Now kick your LEFT leg to the RIGHT, above your RIGHT leg to get your momentum moving.  As you kick use your RIGHT hand to move in a circle, like a handspin.  (This kick with the LEFT leg is almost like a jump/snap or your body, to throw your RIGHT leg in motion, which will throw your whole body in motion).  Now kick your RIGHT leg out, like a 45 degree angle ( not exactly up but not sideways).  As the RIGHT leg is lifting start using your LEFT arm to set the side of your shoulder down (I use my elbow to help set it down) at the same time of all this your RIGHT arm is pushing your upper torso over so you roll on your back and your LEFT leg kicks under ( it's ok to bend the LEFT leg).  Keep the legs stiff and as your rolling onto your shoulder (your LEFT hand sets it down so the forearm moves up toward the shoulder with the elbow still tucked in) start to spread your legs.  If you go to your back and start spinning with your legs spread your almost there.

Now the switch

Now that your on your back spinning what you have to do is lift your LEFT leg up and at the same time roll your body to the RIGHT, now keep your arms tucked in with your hands up, like grabbing your shoulders, as your rolling place your LEFT hand on the floor with elbow still tuucked in, now this part might hurt, when your rolling push off with your RIGHT elbow and your LEFT elbow will jab into your abs, try to lean more so that your face is closer to the ground and your legs are high (think of your body as a teeter totter and your hands are the base).  You can bend your RIGHT leg so that it can get through.  Don't stop your motion, do with your hands and upper torso like your did when your started off, but faster, push off with your right hand Your RIGHT leg should of lift up, causing your left leg to sweep under.  You should be on your back again ready ready for another.

I think that's about it, if you got any Questions, Comments, you think I missed something or it's too confusing mail me at bboyseoul@geocities.com
