"Unechokwadi nemashoko ako here, asi kwava nesmall house, kana yaveko iudze kuti vahozi varikudzoka..." Loosely translated thet Shona for "Are sure with your words, is there a small house, if so tell her that the first wife is coming back...". Thats a quote from my gal friend. For the uninitiated "small house" is a person having an affair with yo spouse/partner sometimes behind yo back sometimes not depending on who/what you are in Zimbabwe.
I got that message after I had suggested she emigrate to outside the country. Its the norm in Zimbabwe when partners are separate one side or both will feel lonely and get a "small house". I dont think I am capable of that, cheating and lying have never been my strong points.
Its more prevalent in men to get a "small house" maybe becoz the wife/galfriend is not satisfying him at home or as a status symbol. In this day of AIDS and STIs its not highly recommended.
