I work at Chemical Abstracts Service since the summer of 1985 as a senior scientific information analyst. I do document analysis in Optical, Electron, and Mass Spectroscopy, Nuclear Phenomena, Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions, Electric Phenomena, and Crystallography and Liquid Crystals, as well as translate German documents. I previously worked in industry on synthetic fuels catalysts and photographic emulsions. I received a B.S. in Chemistry from the College of Chemistry at the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. I did postdoctoral research at the University of Toronto and Tulane University in New Orleans.

I am a member of the American Chemical Society, the American Institute of Chemists, and Alpha Chi Sigma, the Professional Chemistry Fraternity. I served in the Columbus Section of the ACS as Chairman of the Program and Hospitality committees and was Treasurer for 1998 and Chair for 2000. I maintain a strong interest in religion, opera, folk dancing, computers, and the Internet. I have a digital photography album at Club Photo.

My wife, Samone, and I have been married for 25 years. Samone is an R.N. and completed her B.S.N. at Capital University's School of Nursing and is certified as a school nurse from The Ohio State University. We have three sons, Caleb, Joshua, and Jonathan. Caleb is a senior at the University of Cincinnati. He is majoring in Judaic Studies. Joshua just graduated from Upper Arlington High School and is a freshman at the University of Cincinnati. He is majoring in psychology and sociology. Jonathan is in the eleventh grade at Upper Arlington High School. He plays violin in the Upper Arlington High School String Orchestra and also plays piano.
