If you are not using Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, you need to have it to
properly view this portion of my site.
I am using IE 4.0, and I don't need to know of the "Netscape Bugs"
I know that most of the feeder's site does work,in a limited fashion, under
Netscape 4.0, but that program does not comply with independant cascading style sheet
rules. I have found several problems running NS 4.05 under NT 4.0 service pack 3:
- the "strike through" doesn't work in a cascading style (it seems to only work in the
BODY, if any other tags H1,H2 etc. the style doesn't cascade)
- the color of this text is called "red" in the feederinfo.css, not the florsent green that appears in the
Netscape browser.
- the "fixed" background moves with the text.
- an img tag seems to appear at random places on the page, despite being
placed in the same spot on every page.
- bringing up the "Dinner menu" page causes my version of Netscape 4.05 to HANG,
although the "Lunch menu" page (coded almost exactly the same) doesn't appear to
have the same problem.
- the img tag specifying a horizontal rule with a return to top anchor only sometimes appears
in it's full lenght, other times it is not even there. This happens even though the code is exactly the same.
It was not my intentions to make this page "IE 4.0 specific". I
made this page using tags found in "HTML publishing for Netscape" published by Netscape press
"Netscape JavaScript 1.2" published by Netscape Press and Cascading Style Sheets: desinging for the web" by Hakon Wium Lie and
Ber Bos (of the World Wide Web Consortium 'W3C').
If this site had to be published for general consumption I would have to change it to a more 'plain vanilla'
style. I suspect that future implementations of the Netscape browser will adhear to the
specification of the W3C. I did not at this time test for the compatabiliy of either Netscpape 3.x or IE 3.x, you can, of course, try it if you want,
but please be advised of the possibility of your Netscape browser HANGING when you click on the "Dinner Menu". If you can figure out
what the problems are then please contact me
What the Hell! I'll give It a try
