hi. very interesting site. i have read a little
about transhumanism. however, how can you be a
defender of mother nature and still want to build
robots? they don't seem to go together. just
curious.
i liked the poem, but again it doesn't seem to
jive with your interest in robots. thanks for reading this. diane
Rayden Tron's reply: A fair question...here's my answer: Nature has become unbelievably resilient, adaptive, and efficient. By sheer value of those millions of years of experience, it contains tested answers to questions not yet even asked and should be respected. Plus, much of the true essence of "beauty" flows from and through nature.
On the other hand, we are not animals. our technology has enabled us to escape nature's checks on our numbers yet not only are we still dependent on the ecosystem, we also draw from it more than we need. This imbalance, this living by some of nature's rules and not others, has caused the present crises.
Only two choices will hold for the long term...living by all of nature's rules, or living by none. One leads us to a caveman-type existence, while the latter lets us cut that last umbilical cord and shed our biological needs, unburdening nature. That's where the robotics come in. Biology is a dead end. We should not have to live and die like animals.

Hello! I love your poem! It is so inspirational! I am one of a small group of sweeties who know that technology will be the end of us all.
The 'American Dream' is nothing more than words we use when we really mean; the pursuit of power and wealth consumes us all.
Our own disgusting laziness will be the end of us. If we started growing the plant hemp around the world, the greenhouse effect would be averted. Hemp can be used efficiently to make anything from cars and non-polluting fuel to lighter, insulating, more durable bricks and building material. Read 'The Emperor Wears No Clothes' by Jack Herer to find out all the facts about why hemp was scandalized by Dupont and the government. The truth should be perceived by the individual, not blindly followed by the masses.

Rayden Tron's Reply :
No, I don't have a dog, but my parents do...I live alone in an apartment with a "no pets" lease..instead, I have what some may regard as an "excessive" number of plants..You can consider me "silver"...and "green".

Good to see sites that try to open peoples eyes to what we had, and what we gave up. It should come as no surprize that the "interurban era" in Ohio was written out of history and is only now coming back into textbooks. We (anyone in the industry or hobby
or planning) have to keep the alternative in front of everybody. When you add the total cost of the auto and the industries behind it is it any wonder that they seem unstoppable. keep up the good work.

Sorry, but I didn't get your human name. Your
fellow conductor sure was a "bee-otch" last night.
As we de-trained at Harriman, the girls asked him
what his name was. His reply: "Good night,
girls!" Let's call him "Frosty"
Wow -- so much for lack of public relations.
Good Morning: It was so v-e-r-y nice watch you
interact with the three young ladies from Alaska
last evening on the 6-something (Hoboken-Pt. Jvs)
I'm extremely impressed with your personal
observations (last evening) and at the depth of
this site's content.
Like one of the other guestbook signers -- I never
had much interest in robotics -- though I do read
media coverage of an occasional "breakthrough."
Diversity-oriented, my interests embrace learning about cultures new-to-me.
At 50-something I'm attending OCCC's HTML Web page
creation course this semester.
I just can't seem to organize exactly what I
want to include on a web page for myself...I have
SO much to say !
