Where is this site going, anyway?

Right about now, you're probably wondering "What is he doing? What is this '1998.5 Restyle Update Phase Something-er-other' crap? What is going down with this site?"

Well, I guess that I sort of decided that my site was actually kind of boring, because, well, it was my start page and even I would stop it from loading to do other stuff. So, I'm going to give things a little bit of a revamp.

By the beginning of the school year, I want to have my site "Restyled", meaning that basically I'm adding a bunch of cool stuff to it, but according to one of my 'net buddies (who happens to be well-endowed with a sense of style) I won't be adding any actual "Style" to my site...yet.

As you can see on the Timeline, the update is going to consist of three phases.

1. Phase 1:
   • "Story Time" section added
   • "The Death of Ron Staggs" Converted to HTML and posted
   • CDNow added
   • Amazon.com added
   • Internal revamping
2. Phase 2:
   • Add timeline.gif to homepage
   • Create "About site..." pseuo-section
   • Total rewrite of "About me..." paragraphs; include "About site..."
   • Install new cleaner/leaner/hopefully faster site graphics
   • Update links
   • Clean up HTML of "The Death of Ron Staggs"
   • Convert "Escape of Robin and Chad and The Story Behind The Insanity of Pat" to HTML and post
   • Post recommended CDs in "About me..."
   • Post recommended books in "Story Time"
   • Add "Search the Web" Java Applet
   • Update Timeline
3. Phase 3:
   • Post all of series and more in "Story Time"
   • Update Links
   • Review and Add/Change recommended CDs and books
   • Final Underwear check - make sure everything's working great
   • Update Timeline
4. Final Overlay (This isn't really a phase, it's more like cutting the ribbon.)
   • Remove all major references of "Restyle Update" from pages, except in "About me..." where "About site..." lives
   • update Timeline
   • Move Timeline exclusively to "About site..."

So, I've got a lot of work ahead of me! Most of this outline is mearly goals of what I want to try to have happen during different phases of my update, but I'm going to work as hard as I can to get all of this stuff up and running by the general deadlines shown on the timeline. I could've had actual dates listed as to when I wanted to get what done, but I figured that this looked a little better. Besides, it's a little more compact.
