I am Robert Woodside of southwestern Virginia -- a beautiful part of the Appalachian Mountains. I enjoy mountain life, and spend as much time as possible hiking in the beauty of the Washington and Jefferson National Forests (generally on the Appalachian Trail).

For many years, I evolved as an engineer from a natural curiosity about how things work and how they might work better; but for those of you who wonder about my academic credentials and work experience, I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from North Carolina State University and am a software engineer.
