circuits & dataQuad 22 CD connection...

below are outlined two methods for connecting a CD player to a Control 22.

This circuit gives 20dB of attenuation which matches the input sensitivity of the 22 radio inputs to CD level. You will obviously need one for each channel for stereo operation. (many thanks to Simo Paakkanen, and Mr. Salmi of Gradient for putting together and sending the diagram)...

Control 22 CD connection diagram

This diagram shows the resistor values you need to use in your 'N' type tape adaptor to allow connection of CD to the 22 tape input sockets. If you haven't got an adaptor to modify (and you don't mind the 22 tape inputs being permanently altered), then simply solder the resistors onto the rear of the adaptor socket. (many thanks to all - Michael Coatham, John Byrns etc who have advised me in this matter)...

mods to 'N' adaptor for CD

Michael Coatham is also able to make excellent repro adaptors for both normal tape input sensitivity ('N' type) or CD signal levels. These marvelous adaptors simply plug into the adaptor socket on the rear of the 22 and allow you to change input devises with ease. They are available from Michael at 15UK pounds each (or equivalent) - email him for details...coatham@es.co.nz Micheal's adaptors
