The five valves used by Quad II's - from left to right: 2 x Mullard EF86, 1 x Mullard GZ32, and 2 x GEC KT66. (see info section for valve equivalents page) Quad II's are very gentle on their valves, consequently these are the original ones fitted. Don't let sneaky dealers sell you brand new KT66's in exchange for your old GEC KT66's as the old GEC's sound detectably smoother, and last for ages... | |
