Quad 50E monoblock Quad 50E with documentation
Quad 50E input/output adaptors The Quad 50E (or 50D as it was called in some parts of the world) is a 50W transistor monoblock originally designed for professional studio applications - indeed, the BBC in the UK used many as their standard monitor amp. Today though, many are used in domestic hifi systems. The styling obviously draws much from the 303, but the 50E actually began manufacture just before the 303 in 1967. The great strength of this amp is the variety of output impedance, and input voltage taps that can be selected using the adaptors and transformers/attenuators shown.

(Diagrams of the different coil taps/adaptor configurations, and a 50E circuit diagram can be found in the info section.)

Many thanks to Göran Karlsson for these excellent photos
