The contents of this site have grown in response to a research topic given to me by David Summers, painter, art historian, and my teacher:
On the evolution of philosophic conceptions of space and pictorial representation since Antiquity."
My encounters with real-time interactive media (audiovisual & audio) include systems developed by Dannenberg (CMU), R. Detintis (Univ. of Milan). This technology forced me to look at active vision in terms of performance and environmental behavior.
Most of all many thanks to Lola Linares as "Casting A Shadow" becomes a dance/TV production. The resources which contributed to my visual studies include:
CMU Studio for Creative Inquiry, Charles Ames (Composer), Univ. of Texas AI Researchers: Prof. Ben Kuipers, Richard Mallory, and Raman Rajagopalan (Intel)
The primary collaborators: Eric Lyon, Phyllis Douglass, Spelman Evans Downer, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Co., V. Bene Wilson have been there from the start. Many thanks to Natalie Whitson Schifrin, Craig Harris, Sara Diamond, & Joy Barrett at the Banff Centre for the Arts for their efforts, in a time of sheparding a little spirit into this world...hat's off to Joshua, my son (having arrived well) and Jan.
