It floods every year in their neighborhood. Begin the journey to the rooftops... ho- hum. Some children are still excited by it, in the way that children can be by those things adults yawn at. The flood comes every year. A few ladies do the perfunctory moan and weep. If you look close in the wire photos- you can see they're bored of it. Bad actors, flooded stage.

Disaster relief comes and pulls the plug. Then the fun starts. Even the reluctant adults find themselves caught up in the fun. The children scream and they're all sucked down to the drain, with the soggy dogs and sofa cushions. A full technicolor swirl. They're all clotted up there until a big wind comes and combs them out.
