• Staples Technical College, Staples, MN Graduated two-year program in Machine Tool Technology with a 3.5 GPA. Focus on advanced programming, set-up, and operation of CNC mills and lathes.
• Duluth Area Vocational Technical Institute, Duluth, MN Commercial and Residential Wiring. Studied basic wiring, theory, and maintenance of motors and generators.

• Process Development Machinist, Agilent Technologies, Santa Rosa, CA. As the milling machinist of the New Product Introduction team, I worked closely with management, engineering, and programming to process critical part components. Primarily routing, programming, fixturing, tooling, inspection and set-up of complex, extremely tight tolerance laser, microwave, and wave guide components. Proficient with Solid Designer2000. Machine tools: vertical 4th and 5th axis. Horizontal 4th axis and multi pallet. 7 and 11 axis lathes. Inspection tools: Zeiss CMM, Zygo surface analyzer, toolmakers scope.

• CNC Machinist, Ultra Machining Co., Minneapolis, MN. I set up and ran an extensive elite range of high precision, close tolerance parts using fourth and fifth axis Matsuura Mills, generally prototype, in a high pressure environment. I specialized in difficult material: Titanium, Inconel, Hastalloy, Waspalloy, etc. I worked in depth with set-up reduction, tooling, programming, and quality control.
• CNC machinist, Cylinder City, Minneapolis, MN. As shift lead man I was responsible for set-up and operation of nine CNC turning centers; single turret, twin turret and longbed lathes. I supervised 10 to 15 operators, and oversaw plant operations. I programmed, set up, and ran short run complex close tolerance parts. As production demanded, I also set up and ran three and four axis vertical mills, as well as involving myself with manual, repair, welding, inspection, and OEM assembly departments.
• CNC machinist, Danan Engineering, Ironton, MN. As shop lead man, I was responsible for set-up and operation of 10 CNC turning and machining centers in a short run job shop. I supervised 6 to 10 operators. I created detailed set-up instructions with each program, designed a variety of fixtures and tooling, handled job routing, inspection, calibration, and machine maintenance.
• Tool Room Machinist, Hartland Machine & Tool, Brainerd, MN. I machined an extensive range of parts, using conventional mills and lathes. This involved a high degree of creativity in set-up to get the parts done to print and on time.
• Machinist Assistant, Calcor Space Facility, Los Angeles, CA. I was responsible for assistance in the set-up and operation of 12 CNC turning centers and multi-spindle mills. I loaded and unloaded parts and fixtures using forklifts, cranes and hoists. I also set up tooling, did general machine maintenance and basic machining.

• Mechanical Ability

I have 19 years experience with a wide range of CNC mills, lathes, and related shop equipment. I am familiar with many Fanuc and Yaznak controllers as well as other systems. I am able to visualize blueprints and I use that ability to look ahead of the immediate process, which allows me to complete the job in the most efficient manner.

• Creativity

I am always looking for a better and faster way to make quality parts. At Cylinder City I took existing programming a step further, which, together with new set-ups, eliminated operations and considerably improved production, proven through cost analysis comparisons. I also implemented a procedure that standardized location and storage of jaws.

I am highly diplomatic with all types of personalities. As lead man and supervisor, I have developed excellent working relationships with management and employees alike, through trust, honesty, and open-mindedness. I am always eager to learn from others and willing to teach what I have learned.
