SureCalc 2.01 User's Guide
SureCalc - Calculations with ease and without mistakes !
SureCalc is designed with the intention to provide you a very intuitive and convenient interface to numeric calculations. This user's guide contains every thing you need to learn how to use this tool.
To enter numbers: simply type the number to the input field using your keyboard. To enter negative number, enter the number first, then click the +/- (sign) button. Don't use the '-' key as it is for the subtraction operation.
To enter fractions: type the whole number first, then a space, then the nominator and the denominator, sepatated by '/'. For example: 15 3/4
To enter operators (add, minus, etc.): click on the operator buttons or use the keyboard. Note: when you enter fractional numbers, the '/' key in the keyboard can no longer be used for division. Use the '/' button instead.
Memory registers: click MS to store the result of your calculation to memory, M+ to add the result to current memory, MC to clear the memory, and MR to recall the memory to your input field. The current value of the memory will be showed in the display. You have two separate memory registers at your service.
Scrolling tape register: this convenient feature allows you to track your inputs and calculation results. The numbers and operators you enter are showed on the left of the tape, and the results of the calculations are displayed on the right.
Cashier mode: to switch to the Cashier mode, click on the 'Cashier' radio button near the bottom of the calculator. Use this mode when you need to sum up a series of multiplications (as in sale receipts.) In this mode, multiplication and division will take higher precedent than addition and substraction. For example 2*2 + 2*3 = 4 + 6 = 10. You can also use the % operator in this mode. For example, to add a 8.25% sale tax to the above calculation, just type the following sequence:
2 * 2 + 2 * 3 = + 8.25 % =
The result will be 10 + 0.825 = 10.825
In Cashier mode, the tape register will show both the sub items (products) and the running totals. To switch back to the Standard mode from the Cahier mode, simply click on the 'Standard' radio button. The tape register and the input field will be cleared whenever you switch mode.
