BY-LAWS OF JETERO RADIO CONTROL CLUB, INC.
(Revised 05/20/99 - Revisions indicated in red)



ARTICLE I - FEES AND DUES

Applicants for membership in the club shall submit appropriate fees and dues (as outlined in SECTION 1 AND 2) to a member of the Membership Committee, Secretary, or Treasurer.


SECTION 1

The Dues for all adult members, Junior members (less than 18 years of age), and additional adult members of the same household, shall pay calendar year dues at the rates established in Section 2 of this Article. Such calendar year dues are for January 01 through December 31.

New Adult-Members, (18 years or older), not "Additional of the same household", shall pay an initiation fee equal to one full calendar year adult member dues per the rates established in Section 2.. There is no initiation fee for "Additional" and/or Junior Members.

"Additional Members of same Household" is defined as (1) a spouse or (2) a child that is over 18 years of age and under 24 years of age as of June 30th of the Dues year. (5/28/8)

All dues are payable in advance. Persons that are members on December 31 shall be allowed until January 31 of the new year to pay annual dues without having to be considered as a new member. These persons will be extended full membership privileges for the month of January, except they may not vote in matters concerning financial planning for future Jetero business. Prior year members, not having paid their dues, prior to February 01 of the current year may reapply for membership under New Member Procedures.


SECTION 2

New members shall pay membership dues and initiation fees on the date that the membership votes them into the club in accordance with the following schedule for the first year or portion thereof for membership: (Prospective new members are limited to a maximum of three (3) flying sessions at the field before joining the club.) Those members 65 years of age or older, retired or scheduled to be retired, may, at their option pay $600.00 for a paid up life membership.(5/28/8)


FIRST ADULT MEMBER OF A HOUSEHOLD: (5/28/98)

Initiation Fee - January 01 through December 31 $50.00
Membership Dues from January 01 through July 31 $150.00
Membership Dues from August 01 through December 31 $70.00


ADDITIONAL MEMBER OF A HOUSEHOLD 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER:

Membership Dues from January 01 through December 31 $25.00


EACH SPONSORED JUNIOR MEMBER UP TO 18 YEARS OF AGE

Membership Dues from January 01 through July 31 $8.00
Membership Dues from August 01 through December 31 $4.00


ASSOCIATE MEMBER

Membership Dues from January 01 through December 31 $50.00


STUDENT PILOT MEMBER

Membership dues as applicable above except for Initiation Fee which must be paid prior to member making first solo flight. See Constitution Section 3 and By-Laws Section 4.


CAR MEMBER:

Initiation Fee - January 01 through December 31 $50.00
Membership Dues from January 01 through December 31 $50.00



SECTION 3

Prior to the May Club meeting of each year, the Executive Committee will review the Club’s financial condition. If current cash balance plus current revenues exceed the projected operating costs, capital field improvements, and planned Club events the Executive Committee may:

  1. Start a saving reserve to set aside an amount equal to the normal operating expenditures for a year.

  2. By a vote of 2/3 of the voting members present at a Club meeting apply any excess to existing debts, notes and/or other obligations of the Club. (5/28/8)

If during the calendar year, it becomes necessary for the club to incur extraordinary expense in excess of the funds then on deposit in the club treasury for matters such as, but not limited to, maintenance and improvements of the club flying site, then upon the affirmative vote of not less than two-thirds (2/3) of the club members present at a regular or special meeting, the expense, to the extent same exceeds said sum of deposit, shall be considered an expense to be born and paid proportionally by the club members. Each club member shall pay not later than thirty (30) days from the date such expenses are to be incurred, his/her proportionate part thereof. Should any member fail to pay such amount, his/her name shall be removed from the membership of the club, subject to reinstatement upon his/her payment thereof.


SECTION 4

To vote on any club matters, a member must be 18 years of age or older.

Student Pilot Members, and Associate Members and Car Members may not vote and they may not hold elective Club Officer positions. In addition, Associate Members may not operate any form of aircraft in aerial flight on/over the Jetero premises. ( This does not preclude Associate Members from enjoying the use of the Intro - Pilot or other Jetero instructional programs for which they are qualified.)


ARTICLE II - AMENDING CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

The Constitution and by-laws may be altered or amended if not less than two-thirds (2/3) of the members present at a regular or special meeting vote affirmative therefor. Notice of any proposed alteration or amendment hereof shall be mailed to each member's last known address not later than seven (7) days prior to the date such proposal is to be voted upon.


ARTICLE III - CLUB AND FIELD RULES AND GUIDELINES

The membership shall adopt club and field rules and guidelines by vote of a majority of the members present at a regular or special meeting of the club. The rules and guidelines shall include, but are not limited to, governing the operation of the club, operation of aircraft, member conduct, safety, and instruction. Members and guests MUST operate models in accordance with the current Official AMA National Model Aircraft Safety Code and the Field Rules and Guidelines of Jetero R/C Club. ( Revised Jun. 1997)


ARTICLE IV - DEMONSTRATION OF FLIGHT PROFICIENCY

A new member or guest of the Jetero R/C Club will be classified as a student pilot until he/she has demonstrated to an adult club member who has received his/her wings his/her ability to successfully pass the wings proficiency demonstration. A student pilot may not perform solo flight at the Jetero airfield without the assistance of an adult club member who has received his/her wings until he/she passes the wings proficiency demonstration.

  1. STUDENT PILOT: Training with an adult club member who has received his/her wings at all times until he/she passes the wings proficiency demonstration.

  2. WINGS: To receive his/her wings a student pilot will be required to successfully demonstrate to an adult club member who has received his/her wings, his/her proficiency in conducting model operations. The demonstration will consist of the following:

     


    GENERAL AIRCRAFT KNOWLEDGE

    Operation Safety

    Start - up

    Taxi

    Flight

    Flying Ability

    Show ability to operate an aircraft in a safe manner.

    Recover from unusual attitudes including inverted flight (if the aircraft is capable)

    Perform at least one aileron roll, inside loop, left turn, right turn and three take-offs and landings with the engine operating continuously.
