FISHING New England | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Because I enjoy fishing so much, I thought that I would make a web page for all the others in the area. So here are some pictures to look at, and techniques that I find productive.
All the stripers shown are caught on frozen herring or sometimes mackerel. I find that just a hook and bait works best, (all the stripers seen here were caught this way surfcasting or off salisbury jettys) I hardly ever use weights.
This striped bass was caught in Salisbury, MA on some frozen herring. It was an awefully slow day and this one was caught right away, but the rest of the day was very slow. This was partially because it was in the mouth of the Merrimack River and it was low tide. This fish was only about 26 inches and sadly, the best catch of the day.

These two largemouth bass were caught on texas rigged rubber lizards in Canobie Lake, Salem, NH. They were 2.5 and 3.5 pounds. I wasn't paying attention when the larger one hit the bait, and I got off balance in the canoe and nearly tipped over. They were kept a short while so I could get back to land and take a photo. Then they were released.
I always encourage all fishermen and women to catch and release. Someday, there may not be as many fish if we do not release all catches, which means less fun for all of us! So, please release your catch!!
This largemouth bass was also caught in Canobie Lake. It was a great catch because I had just come back from fishing one of my more favored ponds in the area, and decided to stop at Canobie, where I wasn't having much luck at the time. I threw in a big spinner bait from the shore and this fella hit the bait on the first cast! I had to take him inside to get the hook out because it was so dark. He was a little over 2&1/2 pounds and was released after the photo.
