This trick is best served with a story , I will leave the details up to you. Basically it goes like this, a non space race country with a small budget wants to build a rocket. As you go through the steps of the trick explain that you are removing parts of the rocket that are adding drag, unnessesary weight and generaly making it more streamlined.

Open out into a round tube and stand on launch pad.
