or at least that's what I want you to think

28 March 2003

The link you want is here. If you want to know what I'm looking for, read on.

Now I don't know who's actually going to come here and look for me with the tech market being what it is right now, but thanks for taking a peek. The resume that the link you followed pointed to was far out of date, so rather than change all the links around my site to it I'm just putting this in as a placeholder. The resume I want people to look at is my Monster.com format resume -- it's the only one I maintain.

Incidentally, I am not really sure what I want to do at this point; I've become quite disgusted with the tech industry in its current state and really don't want to try to fight my way back into that morass. If you've got an interesting entry-level job involving MacOS X, Linux, or Perl scripting, I'll take a look at it, but otherwise I'm in a situation where the high-tech world is no longer what I want to do or where I want to be.

I don't quite know what I want to do with my life, actually. For the last six or so years I've quite enjoyed working retail, but lately it's been giving me a very bad case of frayed nerves, and since I suffer from fairly severe depression, even though I'm trying to get help for it I'm not as able to cope with it as some people. My few experiences actually working in the tech world were not as rewarding as I thought (I have found I overwhelmingly prefer support jobs to development jobs, and working as a service tech was a nightmare that I was just glad to get over). I'm seriously considering getting a job either as a bartender or as a home network/AV/cable wiring contractor right now. As it is, finding a permanent job is not a priority; I just need quick cash doing something that doesn't drive me insane. In any case, my big project right now is my cooking show, and whatever job I need is going to have to play nice with that.

Thank you again for looking, and if you're still interested in checking me out after recieving this you may proceed to the link above or email me.

/brian
