 "Contained" means it is no longer running and burning New material. The Fire Fighters are now creating a Barrier around the burnt area, by crawling on their hands and knees and feeling for Hot Spots that are within 100 Yards of the edge and putting them out. At the end of the Day, and Before the next morning it SNOWS 2 Inches. The Next Night it rains so much that the Barrier is no longer needed and all of the Fire Fighters head out. The local ones clean up their equipment, and the non-local head out to fight other fires! By Sunday Sept 24th, it had Rained and Snowed EVERY DAY! The Fire Hazard for the Season has been greatly reduced! |
