The Philosophical Section. Scary sounding isn't it? Kalai and Philosophy? Duck for cover. Well anyway, I took the philosophy course in my last year of schooling and hey, guess what? I passed, miraculous as that sounds to all who know me, I actually managed to finish the V.C.E. (Victorian Certificate of Education for all you foreigners.)

Now I'm dividing this section up into two parts, the Internal and the External, Internal is all my thoughts, and personal philosophies, the External is texts and things that I like and have taken parts from.

"Sanity is Merely the Delusion Your Normal." - Kalai
Internal
Back to the Main Philosophy page.

Okay, for the first edition of my philosophical rants I'll be tackling the big issues, you know, the purpose of the Universe and Humanities place in, nothing too complex. Okay I'll be on with it.

Now recently I've actually come to the conclusion that a God somewhere does exist. Hey I know that statment may sound bizarre to all of the people who know me, but it's true, I honestly now believe in a God. I know this is more Theological than Philosophical, but hear me out.

Do you know how I've come to this most startling of conclusions? It's simple I, unlike any other Philosopher in history have inexplicable and undeniable proof that something that is perfect, can create perfection and is obviously all wise is out there. Now your all thinking that I've gone off my nut again and that this time I've finally thrown it all in, but I've got a picture of this most fine specimen.

And there she is, in the picture to the left. Vivian Hsu. Seeing a picture of such an absolutely divine being, can you deny that there is a god out there somewhere? Or that she is possibly even a goddess herself? You can click on any picture of her and get the enlarged version of the picture.

Now apart from that divergance we'll get back onto the main topic of today's conversation. The reason the Universe exists and Humanities purpose in it.

Complex huh? Well not really. But first off I'm going to start back with Aristotle. He was the one who started talking about all sorts of crazy ideas like "Virtue" And even further back was good old illiterate Socrates and his scribe Plato, who went on and on about "Goodness." Like we give a damn. And now we have Existentialism in power, no philosopher gets ahead these days without shouting at the top of his lungs that "God is Dead" - Nietzsche. As fun as that sounds I don't think that I am really up for that sort of screaming.

Everyone these days, really everyone since Socrates has been concentrating upon Humanity at the expense of trying to find the purpose of the Universe. It's like trying to find out what a Hard Drive does without having the slightest idea of what a computer is or does. Believe me, if you did not know anything about Computers, and I mean nothing you would come up with numerous theories about it's purpose but most likely you would never get the correct answer. Now try and figure out the equivilent of a transciever inside the Hard Drive inside the Computer. You'll never get it right, and even if you did it would be so impossible, so unbelievable you'd reject it out of hand.

And here we are again, this one really does kill me, just that tender parting of her lips as she leans forward. She could quite easily be sitting looking at her lover or being told sad news. Gah, she's just so gorgeous.

Now we must turn our minds to why the Universe exists. It would be easy to find out if it was actually alive, not necessarily sentient, but alive, something that did will itself into existance. Who is to say that Life has to be organic? Why couldn't Stars and Planets be just as living as a person? They both give off energy, something that animals and plants do also, if you don't believe me, find out how the Electric Eel in the Amazon hunts it's prey. It uses an advanced electric sensor that detects the electrical discharge that animals give off when they use their muscles.

Now working on the premise that the Universe is alive, then Humanities place in it is that of an interactive organism. Considering the way we are destroying the Earth then most likely we are the equivilent of a small virus or harmful bacteria. Not too dangerous at the moment, but say we get off the Earth, spread through the galaxy and eventually the Universe. Uh Oh, we're becoming a plague, spreading and destroying as we go.

Gods really do walk the planet, Vivian Hsu in a School Dress? How ever will I cope? Oh and by the way for all of you who think I have a younger girl syndrome, Miss Hsu would be around 27 now.
