Common Pipistrelle

Pipistrllus pipistrellus:
It is a small species with a forearm less than 33 mm. Range of species form Europe, Northern Africa Turkey , Lebanon and east to Afghanistan and china. Only photograph taken by Mr. D. Al-Shafi from Northern Jordan clearly show this bat ( locality is unknown) if the specimen is located, this will be the first record from Jordan, (Qumsiyeh et al., 1998 ) P.pipistrellus prefers to roost in tree holes, small crevices between building blocks or in similar areas. It is known to migrate in Europe and such behavior may occur in the Near-east. |
