Mediterranean Horseshoe Bat

Rhinolophus euryale:

      Medium size bat, connecting process of sella acutely pointed in a side view. lancet triangular. Fur colour caries from brown to grayish. ventral colour lighter than dorsal. sometimes with a whitish streak a long the middle. 

     The range of species is Transcaucasia to Palestine and South Europe, Turkmenistan, Iran, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia various Mediterranean islands and perhaps Egypt. (Amr 2000).

    It was reported from Jarash by (Atallah 1977). and Dibbin forest ( Qumsiyeh 1985, Harrison and Bates1991).

     It was found in hibernation caves from September  to November and hibernate as solitary individuals and coexists with M.schreibersi in large caves (Qumsiyeh et al., 1998).
