This bat can be distinguished than other species of Myotis in the region by relatively large ears. The colour of a specimens from Jordan is light brown. Tail membrane hairy along the hind margin. Wing membrane attached to the outer toe. Extreme tip tail extending beyond interfemoral membrane. The range of the species is from Northeastern Africa, Europe and east through southwestern Asia of Japan. It lives in colony and females carried a single young on late April and estimated to delivery in late May. It is found to share the roost with R.ferrumequinum and M.capaccinii in Lebanon. (Atallah 1970), A large colony of about 250 individuals, mostly non-pregnant females and sub adults were observed in the Dibbin forest in July ( Qumsyeh 1980).
