Sailing stuff
A set of PD Racer plans that I drew up for a class legal hull with old fashioned lines. The page contains the dimensions for the all panels but the bottom (which is a 4 x 8 sheet of ply) and two possible sail rigs, a gaff rig with a jib, and a lateen, both of which use the same mast.
A description of a simple jib furler made for under US$10 out of PVC pipe and fittings. This furler is suitable for small boats, and the one pictured is on a Guppy 13 pocket cruiser.
Shooting stuff
Link to the Backyard Marksmanship club, which (when the moderators have the time) holds biweekly postal matches for air rifles and air pistols. If you have a firearm, you can use Aguila Colibri ammo, X-Ring rubber or Speer plastic bullets or some other low velocity practice round and join in the matches.
Link to a zipped bitmap that contains smallbore rifle silhouette targets. If you're interested in shooting silhouettes with air pistols, check out the IHMSA Air group, representing the airgun division of the International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Assn. It's cheap to shoot, a $50 air pistol can actually be competitive.
Link to a page discussing cryogenic treatment in general, and its applicability to gun barrels in specific. Includes a chart showing quantitative results of 77K and 189K treatments of various steels with respect to wear resistance. Don't even consider cryogenically treating a gun until you've read this!
Link to a page describing how to adjust the overtravel of the factory trigger on the Ruger MKII Target model. If your MKII has adjustable sights, read this!
Link to a page describing a proposed stock for the Ruger 10/22.
Here is a description of how to make wax bullets for use in indoor or "quickdraw" practice.
