It's the Sunday afternoon, in February outside of Boston while my husband is as work and all my friends are back at my last military base that I find boring, and a little depressing. Scouring 100+ page documents for clues to try to piece together what the real story is about this shell stock is often kind of interesting. Except for the frustration sometimes of not having access to all the information.

I too learn more and more about markets and investing my following this little stock. My educational background is computer science, but I have interests in natural medicine, horticulture, psychology, and of course, the stock market! In truth though, I think that I'm a frustrated plant biologist. If I make enough money to be secure, that's probably what I'll go off and do. In the meantime, this board is a learning tool for me, too.

By the way, in case you haven't uncovered these yet, here's links to the boards for the Rio and the Sao Paolo exchanges. At least the Sao Paolo one seems to have an english version. They're nowhere near as helpful as our sites:

http://www.bvrj.com.br
http://www.bovespa.com.br

These are the two markets which the reports on Georgeson state are the primary markets that Telebras shares are traded on. If I do a search for "Telebras" under listed companies on The BOVESPA board I come up with:

Company Specification Code ISIN
TELEBRAS ON* TELB3 BRTELBACNOR2
TELEBRAS PN* TELB4 BRTELBACNPR9
TELEBRASI CL ON* TBRC3 BRTBRCACNOR3 TELEBRASI CL PNB* TBRC6 BRTBRCACNPB4
TELEBRASILIA ON* TBRS3 BRTBRSACNOR9
TELEBRASILIA PN* TBRS4 BRTBRSACNPR6

The first two are:
TELECOMUNICACOES BRASILEIRAS SA TELEBRAS

Which I believe is our dear little TBR.

The first listing is the common (voting) shares trading on that market. The second is for the preferred shares, which is the type we can trade on the NYSE.

The second pair is TELEBRASILIA CELULAR SA and the third pair is
TELECOMUNICACOES BRASILIA SA TELEBRASILIA, which ain't too many letters different but the first pair is the one called "Telebras" in the information statement, if you look on page one. I'd be guessing outright, but I believe that this might be a basket stock mirroring our TBH.

If you look up the stock quotation on TELEBRAS you get this:

Round lot - Per 1,000 shares (in R$)
Code Company/Stock Opening Lowest Highest Average Closing
Fluctuation Bid Asked # Trades Volume
TELB3 TELEBRAS ON * 0.19 0.19 0.20 0.20 0.19
-5.00% 0.19 0.20 13 31,200,000
TELB4 TELEBRAS PN * 0.30= 0.27 0.30 0.29 0.29
-3.33% 0.28 0.29 40 550,600,000

Remember before anyone blows a gasket that these figures are in Brazilian currency.

As to the informed/uninformed level of people on this board, you have to admit that individuals that come on here asking about dividends in multiples of stock price, spouting about secret insider buying, secret dividends, and talking about how a stock is going to "ZOOM UP," and then people coming on asking HOW DID TBR GO FROM $135 TO PENNIES sound pretty damn uninformed. Ya gotta give me that much, mira.
