Parent Tips
1. Homework is very important. My A/B students tell me that it takes about 45 minutes per week to do their homework. HW stands for homework on the calendars. If you go to the calendar section and make sure that they have their homework done on time it will help more than anything else. Make sure they know their vocabulary words. If they don't come prepared to class they have to stand in class and do the homework which puts them behind one day per week. This means they don't finish their work and only get partial or no credit for some assignments. The better students finish their work on time. If they don't finish they can come in after school to do the work. If they don't do their homework they therefore will have to come in one night a week to keep up.
2. Students may redo class work or tests to improve their grade. They don't have to do this, it is merely an option they have. Tests can be redone any time during the day except during class. The test can be attempted only 4 times and the last score is the one that counts. Class work can only be redone after school.
3. Students must wear aprons and safety goggles in class. They must wear closed shoes(no sandals).
4. After school hours are until 3:00 PM. If the lab will be closed for an evening, a notice will be placed on the board at the front of the classroom. About 4 times during the year(mostly at the end of a quarter) I will not have enough computers to meet the demand. I will use homework effort to determine who gets the computer.
