Hi Friends!, I apologize
for the delay due to personal reason .
Today finally I
succeded in publishing the long-avaited last part of "Angelo" that
many of you requested.
In this period,
I developed lot of my old projects and started several new, and some
of them I'll publish on the web. Above all from the beginning of the year
Me and Andrea have been working to our "FINAL AMPLIFIER".
About 70kg of DHTs (one channel!).
Now I want to drop a line to you to tell an episode that appened me in the beginning of the year regarding the "old" & good "Francesca".
As you know the first
"release" of Francesca dates back to 1999 (seems yesterday!).
Francesca was built
with state of the art components (for my pockets!) , expecially for output
x-formers I used the very nice TU107 of Lowther club Mediterraneo.
I was a bit surprised when, about an year ago (thus after about 3 years of use), looking at the scope I discovered a little problem with the response of these trannies , something rather hard to discover listening, but when circuits improves...
Of course I called Ciro Marzio (Lowther club Mediterraneo's master) esplaining the problem and he simply advised me to send the pieces back to check them.
The result?. After two week Ciro sent me a cople of new TU 107MKII (the improved version!) at no cost. These trannies are now really singing in my last high end amplifier..
Many suppliers says Trannies are "guaranteed" but often it's not so when you came to the point, expecially if you claim something after a couple of years.
In my opinion these are the the things that all the DIY must take into account when start buying high ends components and that make the difference among suppliers.
Thank you Ciro!
