Lurking Sadness
A black rose stood; yet this dark bloom,
Foretold nothing of coming doom.
A mighty steed, burdened by man,
Lead another across the land.
Whistling wind whipped willows weary,
Weeping for the future's bleary
Events to pass, for they do loom,
Further forward in deepest gloom.
A grove was reached, the man's eyes caught,
A view, at last! the one he sought.
But timely test she could not pass,
And in this life she'd breathed her last.
At her body his eyes did stare,
But such a sight he could not bear.
Over his chest his hand he sent,
To grab hilt with his death intent.
Scraping metal, the friend's quick shout,
But none could stop this man so stout.
To join his love is what he strove,
And to his heart his sword he drove.
As woeful mist reclaimed the place,
The friend stooped down, the man to face.
Then over man and lady lost,
With silent hand, he signed a cross.

Sonnet1
All is for nothing and so is to live.
Only despair and hopelessness remain.
Nothing done, yet my life drains through a sieve,
Emptying to nothingness with no gain.
Corruption, dishonesty, and sin rule the world.
Peace, harmony, joy, happiness don't last.
Material wealth decays and turns old.
Nothing good on Earth can ever hold fast.
Wisdom, love, truth, not money and power,
Are missing virtues I long to embrace.
My faith and my friends, comfort forever.
To withstand tests of time and wickedness.
Inspired words and loving care give me light.
To guide me to heavenly home through night.

Sonnet3 - Valentine Sonnet (check first letter of each line)
Here do I voice the thoughts my heard does bear
A quest it had to seek a fitting friend
Pieced together of morals that we'd share
Pronounced in strength, self-will that would not bend
Yet soft and pure, intelligent and kind
Valueing truth, compassion for the world
And keeping true to peerless thoughts of mind
Loving to be, beauty of self unfurled
Eternity would pass, or so I thought
Never a trace of truth, kindness, or love
Then, unbeckoned, appeared the one I sought
Impressed my heart with virtues from above
Now walking hand in hand through life with me
Eternally, I give my love to thee.

Sonnet4
Midnight pierces my soul, I'm left alone
Adrift on a sea of uncertainty
For once again, all trace of hope is gone
All of life has ceased, and I'm left empty
Harsh winds sap my essence, I slowly fade
Succumbing to despair, all is fruitless
The terminating thought already made,
I turn my eyes from sorrow I won't miss
A saving spark erupts from across the east
And quickly grows, consuming the foul dark
My rising phoenix slays the woeful beast
And is joined in song by its cousin lark
Together voicing songs of life and light
They magically disspell the horrid night.

Untitled1
Nations rise and powers fall.
What's the meaning of it all?
You can run but you can't hide.
You'll be forced to choose your side.
When you walk along the ground
Do you take a look around?
Why were you to this earth hurled?
What is your place on this world?
In our lives that seem unclear.
What is it that you hold dear?
Are you one or are we all?
Is your life's worth big or small?
Can you make a lasting worth?
Will you step out boldly forth?
Will you live through history?
Or will you just cease to be?
You must answer all these true.
You must make them fit to you.
For your time is close at hand.
You must make your final stand.
