This is kinda super annoying. Anyway, this is to sort of explain what all those letters and slashes mean. Because Fan-Fic writers are lazy. Like mathematicians, we create abbreviations for everything.
People Abbreviations (who they are, and what letter their name
stands for)
Story Ratings (G, PG, etc.)
Story Descriptions (abbr. for types. angst, humour, etc.)
Random Abbreviation (one let over one)
J: Kathryn Janeway
C: Chakotay
T: B'Elanna Torres
P: Tom Paris
Tu: Tuvok (I think it's supposed to be T, but then what would B'Elanna be?)
N: Neelix
K: Harry Kim
S: Seven of Nine
D: Doctor
Put a slash ( / ) between any of these letters, and you get a pairing (J/C, P/T etc)
In terms of Sex, Language, Violence, and Rape (why...i don't know. but a lot of stories focus on it for some reason)
G: All audiences. Normally friendly fun.
PG: Some kissing, and several harsh words (no swearing)
PG-13: Kissing, Swearing, possibly violence, depending on the story.; possible mention of rape
R: Sex, definate swearing, harsher violence; rape
NC-17: hot, raunchy, explicit sex, swearing, descriptive harsh violence; rape description
(I may not have this right though...so bear w/ me here. and I can't remember 'em all)
A: Angst. Normally one sided. Someone is mad at someone else.
C: Comfort. Someone gets violently hurt, the other comforts them.
SLASH: pairing of same sex partners.
SMUT: duh. raunchy sex.
ASW: anonymous smut writer
Until i get more. It's staying like this. And you don't even need half of the above stuff (yes, all the way to the top) to survive here. Congrats.
