Day 4: Oh my, its the last day!
Here is camp...just as I got up in the morning. I woke to Cher's "Believe" CD playing...hearing a few upbeat "morning people" humming along as they walked by the tent. It only took me a few seconds to remember where I was, what I was doing, and that this was going to be a fantastic day! It took me no time to pack up & ride off!
Here is the Dining Tent - breakfast time.
Here I am with the amazing, wonderful women who not only helped me find my baggage...but also taught me how to set up a tent in less than 4 minutes. This knowledge I elected to share with as many people as possible.
Here I am with two really fun, really cool people I met on the bus ride to Norfolk, Christy and Michael.
I didn't get to take pictures of the dozens of people dressed up for each "Pit Theme" throughout the ride, but I did get to take this picture of The Nun standing just outside Pit #1 of the last day.
And here is the "Batcave" Pit. I'm standing in line when Batman called for another round of "Potty Lottery..."
And here you see the surprised winner of Potty Lottery as he came out of the potty!
I believe this was the last Pit of the ride.
And here is Jim, (aka my Ride Nazi) and I very happy to have made it to the Mall!
Me, ceremoniously lifting my bike above my head at the end of the ride. I did it - rode every single mile, never sagged, and only caught whining a few times!
Jim was equally as happy to have made it!!
Here's is the gang at the end of the ride after we picked up our red (very warm) AIDSRide shirts.
And right before rolling down the mall, we lined up, took over the streets, and waited for closing ceremonies to begin. I was so surprised I had the energy to lift my bike over my head before, I wanted to do it again for my last pic! |
