To St. Paul Pioneer Press:

Dear Editor,

I am writing to you because my school and school district have problems. In
the first place, I don’t live in St. Paul. I do go to school there, EXPO
ELEMENTARY because I think it is a great school—and would like it to remain that
way.

We practice band in a storage closet, and the average class size is: 30 kids
to 1 teacher. EXPO staff have had a lot of stress in raising money for
EXPO. The art teacher gets 50 cents per kid. We have not had internet access
all year. EXPO had to cut its staff. Other schools even had to sell candy to
pay for Social Studies books. COME ON! Schools are getting less money, and
being forced to do expensive things. Politicians always advertise to “improve
education”. Well, I don’t see that happening!
