E! Online overview of ALIAS

Alias
ABC
Sunday 9-10
Premiere: September 30
Starring: Jennifer Garner, Victor Garber, Ron Rifkin, Bradley Cooper, Michael Vartan, Merrin Dungey, Carl Lumbly, Kevin Weisman

8:30 a.m.: biology lab. 12:30 p.m.: lunch break. 2:30 p.m.: kick the crap out of international terrorists. It's all in a day's work for Sydney Bristow (Garner), a grad school student who also covertly works for SD-6, a supersecret division of the CIA. The worlds of Felicity, La Femme Nikita and Run Lola Run deftly meld, thanks to the mind of Felicity creator J.J. Abrams, who brings the secret-agent woman through more action-packed and emotional twists during this show's (commercial-free) hour and a half premiere than The X-Files (Alias' competition) offered all last season. Garner's extracurricular activities include dealing with her distant and mysterious dad, losing her boyfriend and looking even hotter when she dyes her hair Bozo the Clown red. And did we mention she kicks plenty of ass along the way?

Bottom Line: Alias, otherwise known as the hippest new drama series.
