Biology and Chemistry notebooks will be graded weekly beginning the second week of class. If a test is the day after notebook day they will not be graded that week. The average of all notebook grades will count as a test grade. The class syllabus provides general guidelines for your notebook and the website will provide specific information.

If you miss a test you will make it up during your first study hall after the test. If you do not have a study hall you will need to make up the test after school or during lunch.

This is a U.S. government site dedicated to computer threats. This site is a colaboration between the old CERT at Carnegie-Mellon and the computer security division of the Department of Homeland Security. They will send you bulletins analyzing developing threats and tell how to protect you computer from harm. If you review their alerts you will see that Apple products are also threatened, contrary to what the MAC adds may say.
Update your virus programs weekly. Symantec has averaged 2 updates per week this past year. You should have your e-mail program set to show all file extensions. Do not open attachments with multiple file extensions. Subscribe to a virus alert newsletter from Symantec, McAfee, or the US-CERT site.
I also recommend you download and install "Adaware" or "Spybot" and run it at least monthly, more often if you visit many game or music/video download sites. There are more than 90,000 spyware programs out there. Protect your self.

GaleNet Databases is an online database you may access from home. See your homeroom teacher for the password. Find it Virginia is a research service of the Library of Virginia. You will need the number from your public library card to access this site.
