The Unified Egyptian Empire began at around 3100 BC under the emperor Menes. However, there is water erosion and salt content on the sides of the pyramids and the Sphinx that indicate they were present during the last glacial period at least 13,000 years ago. Look at any picture of the Sphinx and you can see the step-like signs of gradual water erosion all the way up to its head. This means that the entire Giza complex must have been built BEFORE the glacial period, about 25,000 years ago (the erosion is less obvious on the pyramids because Napoleon stripped them of their outer limestone plates.) But even the bulk blocks that make up the pyramids indicate technology that is beyond anything that metal tools could accomplish. The cracks between the blocks are so fine that they are 1/1000 the space between the tiles of the space shuttle. To accomplish the same feat today we would have to ruin many industrial strength diamond-tipped drills.
The most impressive fact about the Great Pyramids that was calculated in 1994 is that the two "star shafts" inside the Great Pyramid that lead from the King's Chamber to the outside at inclined angles point to...nowhere. So why are they there?
The constellations of the night sky change over time because the Earth's axis wobbles. So, 5000 years ago the north star was Draconis, not Polaris as it is now. In another 5000 years it will be Thuban.
The star shafts in the Great Pyramid now point to nowhere in particular, but they DID point to the star Sirius and the middle star in the belt of the constellation Orion, who by the way are known to the Egyptians as "Isis" and "Osiris" (Sirius and Orion are the Greek names)...as they were in the night sky in the year 25,000 BC.
