Soon after the end of the War of Independence, Britain and the USA increased their efforts to annex Auckland. Using sabotage, espionage and subversion, agents from both countries attempted to control the tiny republic.
These efforts reached a climax when Britain and the USA joined forces to conquer Auckland. This 4 year long fight would be later known as the War of 1812.

This fight was a turning point in Auckland's battle for survival as it revealed the TRUE foe of freedom: THE CZECHS! Under the guise of aid, Czech volunteers travelled to Auckland to fight Yank and Lime oppression. Little did the AuckLaanders know that their REAL purpose was to infiltrate Auckland!
For the next year, Czech soldiers stole secret plans and betrayed Auckland to their enemies. Their efforts almost succeeded, but a young soldier by the name of Barnum Auckland unmasked the conspiracy and saved his country from destruction.

With the Czech menace subdued for the time, Auckland was able to focus on the American and British armies.
Within two more years, the Auckland Army succeeded in burning Washington (the Brits took the credit), and destroying the Upper Canadian capital of York (the Americans took the credit).
And so, with both capitals reduced to ash, the Aucklanders dictated peace terms and were given a few decades of uneasy peace in which to grow
