In order to use "Smart Jumps" to it's fullest potential you need to have "Hootie's WTV Jumps" assigned to an f-key. This is because "Hootie's WTV Jumps" uses the power of JavaScript to automatically load the address that you were on when you pressed the f-key into the URL input area on the left. This is the URL that will be used when you click on one of the buttons on the right. If you want to use a different URL, just erase the last visited URL and type or paste in a different one.
Sometimes, when you are visiting a web site, you will think to yourself, "Hey, that looks cool! I wonder how they did that." With the "View Source" button, you can look at the code that other web authors use to make their web pages and learn how you can do something similar on yours.
This nifty little feature allows you to translate any web page from a foreign language to english or visa-versa. Now, when you land on a web page that is written in a language
that you don't understand, you can press your f-key for "Hootie's WTV Jumps" and press the "Translate" button, and be taken to Alta Vista's translator to see what it says. Or

Every time you visit a web page, the address (URL) of that page is added to a list of other addresses that you have visited. This list, manitained by your WebTV Browser, is called a "URL History". When you press the back button on your keyboard or remote control unit, the browser removes your most recently visited URL from your history and displays the page at that address. When you press it again, the next most recently visited URL is removed from your history and the page at that address is displayed, and so on...
Hootie's "-URL History" makes use of this history list by placing its web page URLs into a JumpBox. That way, whenever you want to go back a number of pages, you don't have to keep pressing the back button and waiting for all of the pages to load to see of you have the right one. All you need to do now is press your f-key for Hootie's, select the proper URL from the history JumpBox and you are there!
Hootie's "-Custom Jumps" allows you to create your own set of links in a JumpBox for sites that you frequently visit, eliminating the need to rummage through you favorite folders. Just click on "Customize" in the "-Custom Jumps" JumpBox to create your own jumps.

If you are like most of us, you hate taking the time to retrieve a login page out of a favorites folder, waiting for it to load, then typing in your name and password, and waiting for the next page to load. This process can be agonizing when you have an idea in your head for your web page or e-mail account and you want to get right to it. Hootie's
customizable logins shortens this process considerably. Asyou move the yellow "highlight box" over the login buttons on the right, your user/account name and password are retrieved from storage and automatically entered into the input area on the left. Just click on the login button of your choice and you are there. No more waiting! If you choose to manually enter your name and password, the auto-entry function is disabled when you type your name and/or password into the input area on the left.
